CMS Awards SCG the Provider Enrollment Oversight (PEO) Western Site Verification Services (SVS)

The Center for Program Integrity (CPI), under the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), awarded a $27 Million 5-year prime contract to Signature Consulting Group (SCG) to serve as a National Site Visit Contractor (NSVC) supporting the Provider Enrollment and Oversight (PEO) $2 billion initiative aimed at enhancing the detection and prevention of fraud, waste, and abuse in Medicare and Medicaid programs.
Baltimore, MD. As an NSVC, SCG will ensure the integrity of the Medicare program through continuously improving and conducting screening validation to ensure Medicare providers and suppliers meet the quality and regulatory standards of the Part A and Part B Medicare programs. At the frontline of healthcare fraud as an NSVC, SCG will perform CMS authorized healthcare facility inspections in collaboration with CMS program integrity partners to ensure Medicare and Medicaid program enrollment compliance by medical providers and suppliers in 24 states and three US Territories across the Western Region of the United States.
As mandated by the Affordable Care Act, SCG will build upon and integrate all new regulations into the provider site visit program to create a more efficient and effective Western regional program which will support collaborative efforts with the Office of Inspector General (OIG) and other CMS program integrity initiatives.
This PEO Western Region NSVC Award further expands on SCG’s decade long work in CMS’s Center for Program Integrity (CPI). Other SCG CPI projects include:
- Independent Verification and Validation for Payment Accuracy, Error Audits, and Security Assessments for the Risk Adjustment Data Validation (RADV) program;
- Independent Coding Consultant (ICC) for expert coding support for the medical record reviews (MRR) for the Contract-Level Risk Adjustment Data Validation (RADV) Program; and
- Independent Statistical Consulting (ISC) of evaluation analyses, generating sampling techniques, and assisting in methodological analytic approaches to auditing strategies for CCIIO CMS Health Insurance Exchanges and CPI Medicare Part C and Part D Payment Programs
