SCG Awarded Subcontract through partner SemanticBits on CMS´s Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) Scoring Engine
Signature Consulting Group was awarded a subcontract to assist SemanticBits in its fulfillment of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) "Measure Attestation Work for Merit-Based Incentives Payment System" Task Order, tasked with the development of a scoring engine to support the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS). CMS anticipates this MIPS scoring engine will initially score performance for the Clinical Practice Improvement Activities (CPIA) category and will be adapted to score measures with similar elements of design such as the Advancing Care Information, both contributing to the overall MIPS composite score.
SCG is eager to provide its quality performance measures and MIPS expertise in support of the CMS and U.S. Digital Services collaborative approach for the Agile development of the MIPS scoring engine. MIPS consolidates Medicare´s quality reporting programs into one merit-based incentive payment system which both reduce the aggregate level of financial penalties that physicians could have faced under the current program and provide a greater potential for bonus payments.
