CMS Awards Prime Contract to Signature Consulting Group for Independent Statistical Modeling and Analysis
The U.S. Health and Human Services (HHS) Department’s Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)’ Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight and Centers for Medicare divisions have awarded a new prime contract to Maryland-based Signature Consulting Group (SCG). Under this contract, SCG will develop audit programs to be used by CMS in order to audit entities that perform financial management functions for Healthcare Exchanges established under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA). SGG will provide the analytic support needed to evaluate and monitor the financial management and oversight of all ACA related programs. SCG will provide comprehensive program support, expert risk adjustment, and medical record review (MRR) support for the Medicare Part C RADV audits and appeals process for the CMS. This contract represents the second consecutive award that SCG has received to provide these services.
SCG will utilize predictive modeling and other business intelligence tools to perform both analysis for the Medicare Part C RADV Program, and to validate reports generated by the RADV Central Data Abstraction Tool (CDAT). SCG will respond to specific statistical and econometric questions relating to payment system research and risk adjustment modeling and will provide statistical guidance to CMS and contractors on payment error and validation analyses for Part C and Part D. This guidance shall address sampling, study design and analytic approach issues, and may also include evaluating analytic designs, sampling methods, and program reports.
